First things firsts, congratulations on your soon to arrive little bundle of joy! Secondly, I would like to remind you of the importance of maintaining your body AND mind during pregnancy. Not only is pregnancy tough on your continuously changing body but those hormones can really take a toll on you as well. The most important thing to remember is that through all this excitement, YOU are #1! Take care of yourself so that you can be at your best when the woes of pregnancy and postpartum life hit hard. A prenatal massage will help decrease your cortisol (stress hormone) levels in addition to easing anxiety and body aches.
While it is recommended that women wait till their 2nd trimester, I personally support and am trained throughout all stages of your pregnancy. If you do choose to book an appointment in your first trimester, please talk to your doctor first and be sure to bring in a doctor's note at your first prenatal appointment.
During a prenatal massage your comfort is our main priority. We will start off by asking you to lay on your side while we add various pillows to ensure that our mommy-to-be is as comfortable as possible. We generally diffuse essential oils during all our massages but if you are experiencing smell sensitivity and nausea you can either opt-out of using the oils altogether, or you can choose a scent that pairs well with your sensitivities. You can also rest assured that all oils used are 100% safe and gentle for both mommy and baby.
